Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology - L. Sherwood - 20140910
The lecture will discuss an Oncology Review Group consisting of patients who were aged 15-39 at the time of initial cancer diagnosis (AYAs- Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer). The research demonstrates differences in outcomes for AYA's with hematological cancers treated on pediatric vs. adult protocols. Learning Outcomes: 1. The participant will be knowledgeable of the NCCN guidelines for Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer 2. The participant will be able to identify 3 areas of concern for Young Adults with Cancer 3. The participant will be able to refer Young Adults with Cancer to resources specifically for this age group. This lecture was presented as a part of the RN and Allied Health Series.
