This lecture discusses infections in cancer patients, including practice guidelines for management of neutropenia and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. This presentation also discusses antibiotic resistance, antimicrobial stewardship, and infection control relevant to patients with cancer. Learning Outcomes: • Describe the epidemiology of infections in patients with cancer. • Discuss risk factors for infection in patients with cancer. • Identify methods of decreasing risk of infection in patients with cancer. This lecture was presented as a part of the Medical and Surgical Oncology Lecture Series.
