Updates in Breast Cancer Epidemiology and Pathogenesis - M. Troester - 20160427
This lecture will discuss the latest research in the scope of epidemiology and pathology to gain a better understanding of both the survivorship and causes of breast cancer. Dr. Troester will focus on mortality disparities in races and the research challenges for resolving these disparities. Learning Outcomes: • Describe the subtypes of breast cancer and how they are identified with tissue biomarkers. • Illustrate differences in risk factor and survivorship profiles for breast cancer subtypes. • Describe racial disparities in incidence and mortality from cancer and highlight remaining research challenges for understanding and resolving disparities. This lecture was presented as a part of the Medical and Surgical Oncology Lecture Series.
