Impact of Patient Reported Outcomes on Patient Care - E. Basch - 20170524
This lecture will provide an overview of current news and advances in patient-reported outcomes research. Patient-reported outcomes includes assessment of patient symptoms, adverse events, functional status, and overall quality of life. The presentation will also discuss ways patient-reported outcomes can be used to assess and improve patient care specific to oncology patients. Lecture Objectives: -Explain the value of patient symptom reporting. -Describe electronic communication systems for symptom management. -Recognize national efforts to develop PRO systems in EHRs. This lecture was presented as part of the Medical and Surgical Oncology Lecture Series.
