This presentation discusses common palliative radiation treatments, techniques, and toxicities. The content reviews current guidelines for the use of radiation in advanced and metastatic disease as well as oligometastatic disease. Learning Outcomes: • Identify symptoms that can be effectively treated with palliative radiotherapy and describe common palliative treatment approaches. • Recognize the role of radiation in providing local control for locally advanced and oligometastatic disease. • Recognize acute and late toxicities of radiotherapy for different treatment sites. This lecture was presented as part of the Medical and Surgical Oncology Lecture Series.
