The information presented in this lecture is designed to assist the health care provider in understanding treatments for rectal cancer. This program will review the standard of care for rectal cancer based on staging and discuss emerging and investigational treatment paradigms. Lecture Objectives: -Discuss emerging treatment paradigms for rectal cancer with understanding of what is standard of care and what is still investigational. -Discuss new surgical approaches to rectal cancer with understanding of what is standard of care and what is still investigational. -Discuss the potential risks and benefits of emerging treatment paradigms.
